Whanau (Family) Support

Overview

Families can exist in many formations and sizes. It isn’t always a parent, brother or sister that a person feels most able to talk to about their problems. They may choose to talk to a grandparent, aunt, cousin, or family friend, or school/work friend. The important thing is having someone that will listen and to talk to.

If you notice behaviour changes or feel like something is not right with your loved one, reaching out first often helps. There are various Clubs and organisations in an around the South West such as kaitiaki that are always approachable and here to listen and or lend a helping hand

Many Australians and New Zealanders experience mental illness in their lifetime, or a work place injury where they are physically unable to attend work, so as a Club we strive to attend any situation from our family (Whanau) when asked to wether it be a direct club or family member or wether its just in support of another club or organisation. As family members, partners and friends, we can all do our part to support our loved ones through these tough times. Sometimes the best thing we can do is listen without judgement, ask what is going on, and help them to access professional support.

Kaitiaki is a Social Motorcycle Club that utilises not only our own but all our sister clubs resources to help those in need, if need be we will conduct a Charity Koha ride to raise funds in order to support the family member or members in need.

Phone numbers are attached to this web site so if you need help please dont hesitate to ask.
